September 6 2018 - Been Away From Blog - locked out & now back in.

Will be filling in old entries to bring the Cornwall trip up to speed.

It doesn't seem possible that I remember watching the airplane flying very fast past the very tip of Cornwall, and even turning my head as far as possible to take one more last look at the land of my ancestors, quickly it was gone, lost to my eyes and buried under clouds and fleeting memories.  I had to cling onto every second until we were out into the Atlantic Ocean and far away from the people, places, and events that captured my heart and soul.
  Parting was such sweet sorrow.
Newqyay flight of 11:15 AM was delayed an hour, but I'd cleverly given myself 4 hours to arrive at Gatwick with a 4:35 PM departure to JFK  arriving at 7:35 PM  EST.

I was so exhausted and in pain from the jaw/throat and chest aches, I asked for passenger assistance.

With a final authentic Cornish Pasty in my belly to see me homeward bound, I felt sadness because I knew I'd never return, and what I'd experienced, would have to satisfy my thirst for discovering the ancient roots of my ancestors.    I hope that it has.

July 28 2018 - Planting Red Valerian this weekend

Everywhere I traveled the red valerian was there - growing off ancient stone walls alongside narrow country lanes.   It beautified Cornwall, and showed me how strong this magnificent plant is.  Wild and self sufficient.

Today I'm sowing a packet of seeds I ordered from a seed company Nuts n Cones,  in the UK that was willing to ship to America.

I love this perennial with all my heart and soul.   I'll take great care in sowing the precious seeds and keeping an eye on its progress.

July 10 2018 - last day in Cornwall

The beautiful home f Angela and Geoffrey Eddy.  How kind of them to take me in when I had nowhere to stay for a few weeks after the 3rd Organic Farm in Menherion did not work out for me.  I was expected to sleep in an unfinished shed with out gassing of formaldehyde seeping out of the OSB board.
This is the parlor where we spent a lot of time gabbing and watching Poldark.

Beautiful family pictures hang on the wall.

My luggage gathering together in the dining area trying to weed out what I no longer needed.

Their gorgeous kitchen with a nice view of the back yard.

I wanted to strip the bed, wash everything, and hang it out before being driven to Newquay Airport by Geoffrey and Angela.  I made sure I put 30 Pounds of gas in  their car the day before and bought us fish and chips for our dinner.

The bed was so comfy and the open window was cooling on summer evenings.

This is where I kept my toothbrush and soap, etc.  I left these behind.

1000 thousand thank you didn't seem to be enough.

July 9 2018 - last day exploring with Angela - she picked a perfect place - Tehidy Woods

coming soon.  Pictures added January 26 2019

Where my ancestors lived.  #4

Looking out my guest room window that I kept open every night for good breezes.  No bugs in Camborne.
I made this for breakfast using organic flour.

I gave Angela 30 pounds to fill the car with gas.
This is a doorway of one of my ancestral family members on my Mom's side.

Angela and Geoff's car.  They are really good drivers on the narrow roads and lanes.
On the way to Tehidy Woods.

Angela took us to a peaceful and calming place to walk, sit and rest.

Building just outside the entrance to Tehidy Woods.

July 8 2018 _Sunday Service at Camborne Parish Church and Cemetery.

Angela was kind enough to drive me to Camborne Parish Church, and I walked most of the way back with groceries from ALDIS.   My chest pains were rearing its ugly head.  I became scared and called Angela who picked me up half way home.   It was the groceries that caused the pain as the bag was very heavy.  Had cake and coffee after church in their basement.
Camborne Cemetery.  The Minister said the plot # I was given for my family was under a different name.  I never found my family site.

Walking back to Angela and Geoff's after church through Camborne.
